Getting into an IIM is a dream of almost every student in India and even abroad. The most reputable management institutes in India, IIMs have maintained their distinction since time immemorial. Renowned for the highest quality management education in India, IIMs primarily offer postgraduate, doctoral and executive education programmes. Some IIMs also offer short-term executive education courses and part-time programmes.
To get an admission in management programmes at an IIM, a student should hold a Bachelors degree and appear for CAT. Post a qualifying score in CAT/GMAT, a candidate also needs to appear in a Group Discussion and a round of Personal Interview. Different IIMs are known for different areas of specializations. Here's a list of specializations a student can choose from for an MBA from IIMs.
MBA from IIMs is more than just being Business Management and Industrial Management. It also offers specialised studies in Computer Management, Health care, Administration of Public enterprises, Financial Portfolio management, labour management, personnel management, rural management etc.
IIMs not just consider the CAT scores, but also look at past academic records and work experience. A candidate needs to qualify in the combined computing process of both the CAT scores, past academic records and the work experience, to receive a call from an IIM.
